Our Story

Resonate Missoula began taking shape in early 2018, when six friends took a leap of faith and moved to Missoula a year ahead of the rest of the church planting team. They spent that year meeting students, building relationships, and laying groundwork for the team that would follow. In the summer of 2019, twenty more team members arrived to form the Missoula Core Team. In the years since, God has faithfully grown Resonate Missoula and expanded our reach on campus and in the city. Our community of students, young professionals, families, and staff feels called to lay down our lives for the people of Missoula. We take responsibility for each other, treat each other like family, take risks for the gospel, put mission first, and embrace sacrifice.

Missoula draws people who love the outdoors and are open to spirituality, but the city also faces significant homelessness and a longstanding addiction crisis. The University of Montana has a beautiful campus and a long history, but it also wrestles with isolation, substance abuse, and sexual trauma like many college campuses do. UM draws students from across the country and around the world, which means a student who meets Christ here often carries that faith back to a hometown Resonate will never reach directly. We are praying for the transformative love of Jesus to be known at the University of Montana and throughout Missoula.
